Christmas is fast-approaching – to help prepare in time and balance out your income with planned expenses, Samsung has compiled a list of recommendations on how to best utilize smart-phone capabilities when planning different purchases.
Keeping track of income and expenditure – an important step for saving money
In order to comprehend the subtle truth regarding balance of income and expenses, it is important to keep track of both these factors. Samsung product expert Janis Lejnieks recommends using Expense Manager app. It shows how much money users spend on different bills, food, entertainment, clothes and other purchases.
Say no to spontaneous purchases
When hoping to live more economically, it is important to say no to spontaneous purchases, especially if there is a discount on the product of your choice and no certainty in regards to its usefulness. Usually items bought this way are not used practically. Because of that, you should consider such purchases very carefully. Results of Samsung and GfK Custom Research Baltic survey reveal that 68% of Latvian residents often use smart-phones. «In spite of this high index, users rarely use their devices to help them plan their expenses. I would recommend using Google Keep or Shopping list apps to help plan family shopping expenses better,» – advises Lejnieks.
A reminder about regular payments
If your bank account does not have regular monthly payments set up for rent, utilities or mobile phone service, you may potentially forget to pay one of them someday. Bill tracker app can help users keep track of their standing payments. It sends a reminder to the user as how much they have to pay and what bills require paying.
«There are multiple helpful portals in Latvia that compile and compare prices for services. Salidzini.lv is one of them. A mobile app of this website can help compare prices more quickly,» – says the product expert, adding that it is always worth comparing prices when planning big purchases.
By using the WhatsApp smart-phone application, users can forget about enormous phone bills. This application allows the user to send text messages and phone any part of the world. The only thing necessary for it to work is access to wireless or mobile Internet. «If someone thinks calls of this kind require consumption of enormous amounts of mobile data, it is not true. A call to Australia costs a lot more than using WhatsApp. Skype is also an option for conversations that take a lot of time,» – says Lejnieks.
