Manufacturing turnover grows 10.4%
Compared to August 2010, manufacturing turnover (at current prices, calendar adjusted data) grew 10.4% in August 2011, of which in domestic market – by 15.7% and in export – by 4.8%. Three largest sub-sectors - manufacture of food products, wood processing and metalworking played the biggest role in the increasing manufacturing turnover.
Annual inflation up 4.6% in September
The average consumer price level grew 4.6% in September year-on-year. Goods were up 6.1%, while services gained 0.8%, according to the Central Statistical Bureau.
Foreign trade turnover surges 23% over year
In August 2011, the foreign trade turnover at current prices totalled 1187.4 million lats – 4.9% or 55.8 million lats more than in the previous month and 23.0% or 222.2 million lats more than in August 2010.
