April 18, 7 pm:

Few operas have surpassed Manon Lescaut in the depiction of the urgency of young love…Now, directed by Dalia Ibelhauptaitė, Giacomo Puccini’s opera awaits its second appearance on Vilnius stage.Luxury, bright colours, refined clothing silhouettes, patterns and textures combinations, luxurious accessories, furs, feathers, oriental motives, even seductive Manon belly dancing- all these charming things reminiscent of decadent, theatrical, exotic Paris of 1910-1915 will be revived.

April 18-23:

Festival «Lithuanian Theatre Spring» (Lietuvos teatrų festivalis «Lietuvos teatrų pavasaris»); Girstučio rūmai (www.girstutis.lt/en), Kovo 11-osios g. 26, Kaunas. Also in Juozo Miltinio Dramos teatras in the city of Panevėžys, Laisvės a. 5.

The ongoing festival is one of the most popular events of the kind, aiming to introduce the viewers the variety of Lithuanian theatres and the mastery of the actors. On April 22, 6 pm, the performance «Hubris» (spektaklis «Puikybė») will be shown at Juozas Miltinis Drama Theatre (Juozo Miltinio Dramos teatras) in Panevėžys.

April 18-23:

Festival «Young Music» (Festivalis «Jauna muzika»);various venues in Lithuania;

This is the biggest in Lithuanian and the Baltic States festival of electronic and electro-acoustic music being organised since1992 by the Lithuanian Composers’ Union. «Jauna muzika» pays special attention to electronic and electro-acoustic music, aims to present to the Lithuanian audience various novelties in the genre.

April 18-23:

Festival «Komiksų dienos»(Festival «Comics Days»); various venues in Vilnius and Kaunas;

The festival «Comics Days» is back, inviting to numerous workshops, lectures, discussions given by comic theorists, writers and artists. A concert will wrap up the festival in Vilnius. The festivals’ programme on Thursday, April 20, will offer the workshop «Documentary comics» (3 pm-6 pm), the lecture«War comics – liberate the imagination, or to witness untold reality?» (6.15 pm- 7.15 pm)- both to take place in theAcademy of Arts, Malūnų str. 3, Vilnius;

April 19, 7 pm:

Concert «From Bach to Mambo» (Koncertas «Nuo Bacho iki Mambo»); Lithuanian National Philharmonic (Lietuvos Nacionalinė Filharmonija) (www.filharmonija.lt/en); Aušros Vartų g. 5, Vilnius;

The Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society nurtures a nice tradition: every spring soloists and the symphony orchestra of the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Art bring the fest of the young talents to Lithuania’s big stage. Among the performers this year is virtuoso Ignas Maknickas, born in California (the USA), winner of a number of international competitions. Standing out for his exceptional musicality and Chopin-like elegance, the pianist has already given concerts in Austria, Denmark, Italy, the USA, Croatia, Poland, Holland, France, Russia and Germany.

April 18-22:

Estonia Days in Vilnius (Estijos Dienos Vilniuje); various Vilnius venues;

Events highlighting Estonia life continue inviting Vilnius residents and the capital’s guests.

April 21-22:

Exhibition «125 Years to Energetics in Lithuania» (Paroda «125 metai Lietuvos energetikai»); Energy and Technology Museum (Energetikos ir Technologijų muziejus) (www.emuziejus.lt/en), Rinktinės g. 2, Vilnius; One hundred and twenty five years ago, in Rietavas, in south-western Lithuania, for the first time ever, an electric lamp was lit. In those days, this event was considered as a miracle, and, in present days, energy is an inseparable part of this wild life. In a special educational tour, one will have a possibility to try a self-made model of an electric power station and light up an electric lamp….

April 21-23:

Jazz Music Festival «Kaunas Jazz» (Džiazo muzikos festivalis «Kaunas Jazz») (www.kaunasjazz.lt) will be held in Kaunas, Palanga and Panevėžys;

The festival will be kicked off in Palanga on at 8 pm on April 22 at the music club «Vandenis» in Palanga with the opening concert of the festival scheduled at Kaunas Town Hall at 4 pm on April 23…

April 22, 7 pm:

Record Store Day (Garso irašų parduotuvės diena); Rūdninkai book store (Rūdininkų knygynas), Rūdninkų g. 20, Vilnius;

Record Store Day takes place in Lithuania for the fifth time. It will be crowned by a show of Domantas Ražauskas, a musician, song author and bard. He says he will have many surprises for the audience and himself…

April 22-23:

Photo Festival «Snap» (Foto festivalis «Snap»);Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva (Viešbutis «Radisson Blu Lietuva») (www.radissonblu.com/lietuvahotel-vilnius), Konstitucijos pr. 20, Vilnius;

The biggest photo festival in Lithuania, «Snap»,gathers more than 3 thousand participants and, now, it returns for the eighths time, offering open and closed workshops, lectures, inspiring experiences from Lithuanian and foreign stars and novelties of photo techniques…

April 23, 7 pm:

Basketball and Music Show «95th anniversary of Lithuanian Basketball» (Krepšinio ir Muzikos šou «Lietuvos krepšinio 95 metų jubiliejus»); «Žalgiris» arena (www.zalgirisarena.lt/en), Karaliaus Mindaugo pr. 50, Kaunas;

It has been 95 years since the first ever basketball competition in Lithuania. And now it’s time to celebrate the approaching to the centennial anniversary. Three legends of the Lithuanian musical stage, SEL, Džordana Butkutė ir Linas Adomaitis, will definitely make the packed hall sway to the indelible rhythms of the music.
