April 4-10:

Vilnius International Film Festival «Cinema Spring» («Kino Pavasaris»), Vilnius cinema theatres

Vilnius International Film Festival «Kino Pavasaris» is one of the most anticipated annual cultural events in Lithuania. The largest cinematic event in the country invites to cinema-related events, workshops, and special initiatives. The festival presents the rest of more than 200 films brought to the festival;

April 4-10:

Exhibition «Accelerating Science» («Pagreitinant mokslą»); National Centre of Physical and Technological Sciences (http://www.vu.lt/en), Saulėtekio al. 3, Vilnius;

Probably, one has heard something about Higgs boson, the Big Bang theory, and large accelerator of hadrons collider. However, do we really know what it is? The exhibition, where answers to the questions of the kind will be found, presents interactive installations, animation and computer games will be available; presented experiments performed in the largest particle accelerator, unseen peculiarities of particles will be a jaw-dropper to many;

April 8, 7pm:

Ballet «The Blue Danube» («Mėlynasis Dunojus»), Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (www.opera.lt/en), A. Vienuolio g. 1, Vilnius;

A ballet in two acts,  music by Johann Strauss; choreographer and Libretto Andrei Melanjin (Russia); music Director and Conductor Martynas Staškus; designer Viačeslav Okunev (Russia)

April 8, 7 pm:

Bards among the stars: Vytautas V. Landsbergis; Planetarium, Konstitucijos pr. 12A, Vilnius;

Famous film director of the Lithuanian theatre and cinema, author and bard Vytautas V. Landsbergis’ creative works has been shining in the cultural skies of Lithuania for many years.. He is the artist able to convey his creations by various ways and forms.

April 8, 6.30:

Concert «Evening of Guitars» («Gitarų vakaras»), Amphitheatre of Žalgiris Arena (http://zalgirioarena.lt/en), Karaliaus Mindaugo pr. 50, Kaunas;

Students of Kaunas University of Technology are inviting all guitar music lovers for the 18th consecutive year to enjoy the rhythms of guitar. Not only the older generation virtuosos will perform but also some new talents will show their talent; As in a sport event, a respectable jury will evaluate the performers and the winners will claim contracts with best recording companies;

April 8, 7 pm:

Concert «Trio of Actors» («Aktorių trio»); Klaipėda Dramos Teatras (http://www.kldteatras.lt/en), Teatro a. 2, Klaipėda;

The troupe of three famous Lithuanian actors Kostas Smoriginas, Olegas Ditkovskis and Saulius Bareikis was formed in 1995 and  has been a huge success ever since. Now the performers invite all to their new programme infused with wit, musical provocations and depth.

April 9, noon:

Concert by Gediminas and Ainis Storpirštis; Congress Hall (http://www.lvso.lt/en), Vilniaus g. 6/16, Vilnius;

Two bards, theatre and film actors, father and son, also stage buddies and partners- this is what Gediminas Storpirštis and Ainis Storpirštis are as a pair. After a lapse of exactly fifteen years, they are returning to the stage with a completely new programme abound with songs created by both of them.

April 9, 8 pm:

Mariah Carey Concert; Žalgiris Arena (http://zalgirioarena.lt/en), Karaliaus Mindaugo pr. 50, Kaunas;

Lithuania will hear one of the best voices in pop music world for the first time. Behind Mariah Carey’s belt  is more than 220 million records, 5 Grammy statues and she has earned even 19 World Music Awards; after the successful series of performances in Las Vegas, Mariah Carey is  touring Europe with her «The Sweet, Sweet Fantasy Tour».
