Economic calendar of Latvia. July 30 – August 3, 2012
Monday, July 30:
-A business breakfast organized by the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Linearis will take place at the LCCI building. The topic of discussion will be related to opportunities of attracting investments from China and business opportunities in China.
-Lursoft and SEB Bank hold the «The current health status of Latvian companies in the last five years» press-conference at the SEB consultations centre. Lursoft Chairwoman Daiga Kiopa and SEB Bank Board member Iava Tetere will partake in the event.
-Results of the research conducted by DNB Latvijas barometrs «That, which, according to residents, guarantees business success and which popular businessmen are worth looking up to?». Director of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency ANdris Ozols, DNB Bank economy expert Pēteris Strautiņš, Director of the SKDS research centre Arnis Kaktiņš, Manager of the Kukuu furniture brand Aija Priede-Sietiņa and the manager of MightyFingers Company Guntis Šmaukstulis will partake in the event.
-The meeting of the Economy Ministry representatives and the Latvian Association of Information and Communication Technologies (LAICT) will take place at the Economy Ministry. During the meeting, it is planned to adopt a charter of priorities in the sphere of information and communication technologies. Governor of LAICT Signe Saliņa, Secretary of State to the Economy Ministry Jūris Pūce and other notable officials will participate in the meeting.
-The Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia will report the data on retail trade turnover in June 2012.
Tuesday, July 31:
-The project of the Society of Entrepreneurs in Jurmala –«Strengthening of entrepreneurship associations of Jurmala and Riga region and their cooperation» concludes. During the entirety of this project, entrepreneurs from Jurmala, Marupe and Riga, as well as representatives of Jurmala City Council visited Klaipeda businessmen in order to exchange experience.
Wednesday, August 1:
-VAT rate of 21% on electrical energy becomes in force.
Thursday, August 2:
-Jumava pluss bookstore presents a new electronic bookstore, where clients will be able to order electronic books, personal computers and other useful things. Special ambassador for relations with the Latvian diaspora Rolands Lappuke, ambassador of Latvia in Georgia Elita Gavele, ambassador of Latvia to Ireland Pēteris Elferts, LNT representative Pavils Raudonis, Director of the Publishing Riga advertisement agency Andra Treibaha and other notable figures will partake in the presentation.
Friday, August 3:
-Welfare Minister Ilze Vinkele travels to Gulbene parish to meet with municipal representatives and local businessmen.
