-E-skills week begins today. This event will be attended by Environmental Protection and Regional Development Minister Kaspars Gerhards, Transport Minister Uldis Augulis, President of Latvia IT and Communications Technologies Association Signe Balina, Chairperson of RIX Technologies Eva Butane, head of Microsoft Latvia Erik Eglitis and Chairman Latvian State Radio and Television Centre Janis Bokta.

-Albert Hotel hosts a conference of Latvian Builders Trade Union ‘Solidarity and Responsibility in Latvia’. During this conference, officials will discuss the most common violations of labour rights during construction of buildings and infrastructure objects in order to introduce a principle of solidarity and responsibility in Latvia’s construction sector.

-Vitol – the largest shareholder in Latvian Shipping Company – hosts a presentation of development plans in Latvia.

Tuesday, 8 March:

-LDz holds a presentation of a modern railway station Skirotava.

-Agriculture Ministry hosts a meeting with the State Food and Veterinary Service to discuss changes in requirements for classification of animal carcasses.

-Specialists of Agriculture Ministry present a lecture on bio-economy at the University of Latvia.

-Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia reports data on changes in consumer prices in February 2016.

-Finance Minister Dana Reizniece-Ozola, Finance Ministry’s State Secretary Baiba Bane and deputy state secretery to Finance Ministry for matters of finance policy Liga Klavina participate in a meeting of ECOFIN.

Wednesday, 9 March:

-Agriculture Ministry holds a seminar for exchange of experience titled ‘Transfer of knowledge and experience into the system for agricultural consultation’.

-Latvia’s Chamber for Commerce and Industry and the American Chamber for Commerce and Industry organize a press-briefing in order to report on cooperation between Latvia and USA.

-Presentation of Latvian Association of Start-Ups at the Nordic Club House. During this event, representatives of this organization will report on plans and new members of this new organization.

Thursday, 10 March:

-Vacancies fair in Kauguri Cultural House. 30 enterprises will offer nearly 500 vacant jobs.

-Latvian Rural Education and Advisory Centre hosts a meeting of Latvian Farmers Federation.

Friday, 11 March:

-Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia announces external trade indexes in January 2016.

-Bank of Latvia announces payment balance indexes for January 2016.

-Mercure Riga Centre hotel holds a master-class ‘Models. Skills. Results’.

-Representatives of PricewaterhouseCoopers organize a presentation of their report ‘Effectiveness of VAT payments and opportunities for the application of this practice in other areas’ in Finance Ministry.
