G-20 summit to actively discuss Eurozone crisis

Mexican President Felipe Calderon
The crisis in the Eurozone will become one of the central topics on the G-20 summit, set to begin on June 18 in the Mexican city of Los Cabos (North-West of the country). A number of other important questions related to the global economy will also be discussed in detail, President of Mexico Felipe Calderon reports.
Participants of the summit in Los Cabos will face the issues of «economic stabilization, implementation of structural reforms for sustained growth and supplying the human population of the planet with jobs». Furthermore, the summit will also look deep into enhancing global financial architecture and optimizing its regulation.
The agenda also provides for the discussion of the ongoing global problem of price increase on food and «finding mechanisms for reaching price stabilization as soon as possible», ITAR-TASS writes.
Calderon underlined that the summit’s results «may conclude with the implementation of extremely important decisions for ensuring stable development of global economy».
Mexican authorities took especial precautions on the summit’s opening day: over 4 600 soldiers and police officers were called to ensure security. Hotels, where G-20 delegation members will be staying are under special security measures.
270 surveillance cameras were stationed in the part of the city where official events will take place. Snipers, Special Forces riot control units and bomb defusal units were called in to ensure the safety of the diplomats. Marine vessels and boats are forbidden from nearing the coastline where world leaders will meet.
19 largest economies of the world and the European Union (EU) are part of the «Big Twenty». G-20 represents 90% of the global GDP, 80% of global trade (including internal EU trade) and two thirds of the world’s human population.
