Industrial production prices up 5.4% in a year

In March this year, compared to February, the overall level of producer prices in Latvian industry decreased 0.4%. Prices of products sold on the domestic market grew by 0.1%, but prices of exported goods went down 1.0%.
Price decrease by 9.0% in manufacture of base metals and of 1.0% in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply had the most significant lowering impact. In its turn, price growth in printing and reproduction of recorded media (by 4.5%) and in manufacturing of food products (by 0.4%) had the most important increasing impact on the overall level of industrial production price index, according to the Central Statistics Bureau.
In March 2012, compared to March of the previous year, the overall industrial price level in Latvian industry grew by 5.4%. Producer prices for products sold in the domestic market increased by 9.5%, while prices for exported goods went up 0.1%.
Major price increases were observed in electricity, gas supply, heating and air conditioning (by 19.4%), and manufacturing of food products (by 3.2%).

CPCB requests permission to initiate criminal prosecution of bribery suspected official

The number of visitors in hotels and other accommodation establishments in Q1 of this year comprised 301.3 thousand people. That is 5.9% more than in Q1 of 2012.Of which 34.3% were residents of Latvia and 65.7% – foreign tourists. Previously share of visitors was similar.
