Hoping to enhance its position on export markets, Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija is representing Latvia at the world’s largest confectioneries and snacks exhibition ISM 2016 in Cologne, where it will present new products from Laima and Taffel.
It is the first international exhibition Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija attends after merging with Latfood. The company presents a wide assortment of confectioneries and snacks meant for export markets. Visitors of the exhibition are be able to try out products like Sweet roll, Desserts by Laima line of sweets, which has already become popular in USA, and Taffel products – Ādažu Čipsi.
Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija Communication and Public Relations manager Inese Blaune notes: «ISM exhibition is held for the 46th time. Every year this exhibition gathers people from all over the world, including countries our company is interested in establishing partner relations with. Participation in ISM for many years is part of our company’s export strategy. Export indexes of previous years show that this approach was successful. This time we have prepared new products. It will also be the first time when we offer not only confectioneries but also salty snacks to visitors of the exhibition.»

As previously reported, Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija (previously known as NP Foods) had significantly increased its export volumes to USA and other countries. This allowed the company to compensate export losses to Russia. The biggest increase of exports was noted in USA (+80%). Among EU countries, the biggest export increase was noted in Ireland (23%). This year, the company plans to increase exports by 30% in comparison with 2015.
In total, Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvija exports products to 27 countries of the world, including USA, Canada, China, Israel, UK, Ireland, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
