SIA Autonams Board Member Edvins Panders

Already in the nearest future, a number of Latvian producers might enter Chechnya’s market and significantly expand their operations in this region, which currently has high demand for various types of products.

Security system Skybrake inventor and the manufacturer SIA Autonams could become one of the support platforms of the Latvian business activities in Chechnya. It has opened its own representation in Chechnya’s capital Grozny in cooperation with local partners. The experts of this market point out to the business news portal BNN that contacts with local partners are important in this region, because without their support it is hard to operate there. Therefore, Autonams’ initiative is very plausible, if they have managed to find such partners.

Autonams’ representatives informed BNN that local partners themselves turned to the company. Currently, Autonams’ export department is negotiating with several Latvian food producers and electrical equipment manufacturers for their product distribution in Chechnya. However, the producers’ names have not been disclosed yet – the particular companies’ representatives will announce this. The company’s representatives emphasize, most importantly, manufacturers have to overcome their prejudices towards this region, because now it is a rapidly-growing market with many free niches. After the war, the domestic industrial sector is in poor condition; however, demand for all types of products keeps growing. The Latvian company also hopes to start production in Chechnya in order to strengthen its position in this region.

Our product distribution is just one of the steps that we wish to take. Our second goal is to secure a platform for Latvian companies for their production export to Chechnya and nearby regions, SIA Autonams Board Member Edvīns Panders reveals to BNN. Already now there is huge interest in these possibilities – both from the Latvian companies and the Chechen business partners. This month, several Latvian producers will send their first cargos to this region. Chechnya is now seeing a very rapid growth and has high demand for goods and production. This is an unexplored market, regarding which there are still many biases due to the past wars. Now, this country is experiencing a huge growth, Panders indicates.

By creating a representation in Grozny, we have launched a wide export and development programme of Autonams, aimed at strengthening the company’s positions in the existing foreign markets and expanding market boundaries. Within the framework of programme, we have drafted a development concept, providing for establishment of several representations in different regions. Representations deal with two types of activities – Autonams’ production sales and other Latvian producers’ goods distribution, Panders specifies.

The new concept – to distribute by means of one representation its own and other manufacturers’ production – ensures a large product portfolio, providing wide possibilities for manoeuvres in sales.

On a global scale, Latvia has a large number of small companies producing quality products. Unfortunately, not always these companies have a chance to export; it is not beneficial to set up representations if, in the worst case, the company is manufacturing only one product . Autonams’ many years of export experience has shown that cooperation does bear more fruit. Therefore, each long-term activity requires three components – concept, strategy and tactics. Through experience, knowledge and contacts we offer a development model that is bearing fruit for our company and for enterprises willing to cooperate with us, Panders says.
