Aivars Lembergs

According to the newspaper Diena, the recently published statements of account of Aivars Lembergs and his children Anrijs and Liga have similarities, to which Aivars Lembergs has answered that it is just a coincidence.

The mayor of Ventspils has announced that his children are grown-ups and can manage their money as they wish. Although there are aspects, that are similar to all of the statements of account, that allow to conclude that the transactions may be done in the interests of Aivars Lembergs. What catches the attention is the turnover of millions of USA dollars, especially in 2005, and the concerted actions in transferring and lending money.

It can be seen from the staments of account of Lembergs that there have been transactions overall of 8 millions among Aivars Lembergs, his children and SIA Ala 2002 (Aivars Lembergs was the owner of the company until 2005). Overall SIA Ala 2002 has received 7,8 millions of dollars in loans. According to the 2009th annual report information, SIA Ala 2002, which was founded in 2002, deals with investments in financial and capital markets and private equity investments in sectors with high growth potential. According to the statements of account, Aivars Lembergs invested LVL 2.5 millions in the capital stock of SIA Ala 2002 in the end of 2003, and judging from the annual statement – shares of the company in worth of LVL 11 million have been presented to someone as a gift in 2005. However, the database of Lursoft does not inform about the current owner of, not any more Ltd. but incorporated, Ala Investments, because it does not have any data about the members of the company. The only thing known is that the Chairman is Gatis Klimass, but Liga Lemberga (Līga Lemberga), Anrijs Lembergs (both of them have been in the Board since 18th October, 2005) and Andris Vilcmeiers are the members of the Board.

Aivar’s Lembergs statements of account also show that he has presented to his children approximately $14 millions as an endowement. He emphasizes that it is not his business how his adult children spend their money and that it has been a long time since he is not the owner of SIA Ala 2002, therefore he does not know anything about the activities of it.
