BNN offers you a selection of cultural events in Lithuania for the week between April 25 and May 1.

April 26-30:

Pin Day: Culture Marathon «Kablys» 2016; cultural bar «Kablys» (www.mankablys.lt), Kauno g. 5/21, Vilnius;

The birth of PIN Day dates back to 1970, when the agreement of World Intellectual Property Organisation was signed. This organisation aims at celebrating creativity and evaluating the importance of intellectual works throughout the world. Celebrating PIN Day, the culture marathon of young creators, will present designers from Vilnius Art Academy (VDA), young theatre and film directors from Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy (LMTA) and many musicians took their debut among other participators in the culture marathon.

April 26-29:

Jos De Gruyter&Harald Thys’ Exhibition «White Suprematism»; contemporary Art Centre (CAC) (http://www.cac.lt/en), Vokiečių g. 2, Vilnius;

An exhibition by Jos de Gruyter & Harald Thys features a horizon with thousands of white flat-steel elements -2 mm to 110 mm thick and 6 cm to 240 cm tall, appearing in numerous sizes and variations – all complete with anonymous faces which are stretching across the one-thousand-square-metre hall. Standing, seated or kneeling, bent or twisted, on their own or with company, or in monumental stacks of stiff acrobats, the steel elements mesmerize the viewer.

April 26, 3 pm:

Exchange Laboratory #1. Building A. Shelter with Mykolas Gerliakas; Project Space «Sodų 4» http://www.letmekoo.lt/en), Sodų g. 4, Vilnius;

Scouting is more than a century long movement, supporting young people in their physical, mental and spiritual development. They share knowledge in communities and develop progressively according to changing conditions. In this particular workshop for exchange of knowledge scout Mykolas Gerliakas will demonstrate how to design a shelter from self-made rope for a hostile environment. Other conditions and variations of shelter building will also be discussed.

April 27, 6 pm:

International Music Festival «Sugrįžimai» («Comebacks»); various venues in Vilnius;

The Lithuanian Musician Support Fund has started organizing International Music Festival «Sugrįžimai» aiming to invite young people studying music and working in foreign concert halls, theatres and clubs to come back to Lithuania and show their talents for the Lithuanian public. This spring, the series of concerts is being held already for 18th time.

April 28, 7 pm:

Kailash Kokopelli&Vladisvar Nadishana; Lithuanian Russian Drama Theatre, J. Basanavičiaus g. 13, Vilnius;

During this concert of sacral sounds, a listener becomes a participant of a sacral ceremony. During the concert-ceremony, space widening consciousness is created, and it touches and heals the deep of the soul. Unique duet – Kokopelli & Nadishana – is a meeting of the world’s music and shamanic traditions which satisfies the needs of music gourmets and spiritual searchers.

April 29, 1 pm:

Chamber Music Evening; Raudondvario Dvaras Menų Inkubatorius, Pilies takas 1, Raudondvaris, Kauno district;

Performers Simona Liamo (soprano), chamber music band «Musica Humana» will bring up the finest tunes by A. Vivaldi, J. Haydn, W. A. Mozart and others;

April 29, 6 pm:

Operetta «Naktis Savojoje» («Ball in Savoy»), Kauno Valstybinis Muzikinis Teatras, Laisvės Alėja 91, Kaunas;

A three-action operetta; director Andrius Žiurauskas, conductor Jonas Janulevičius, set designer Kotryna Daujotaitė; Ball in Savoy is an operetta in three acts and a prelude by Paul Abraham to a libretto by Alfred Grünwald and Fritz Löhner-Beda. Although Ball in Savoy is a relatively recent operetta, its characters follow the classic scheme…

April 29, 11 pm:

Eurovision 2016 Lithuanian hopeful Donatas Montvydas Concert; Port by Bar, Naujojo Uosto g. 11, Klaipėda;

One of Lithuania’s greatest modern singers, Donatas Montvydas, invites all to the concert to bid him farewell before his trip Sweden, the host of Eurovision 2016 Song Contest.

April 30, 6 pm:

Concert «Singing Mothers»; Entertainment Hall «Vakaris», Pamėnkalnio g. 7 / A. Stulginskio g. 8, Vilnius;

The concert organizers say one should take his or her mom to the concert of two stage professionals and vocal virtuosos – Rosita Čivilytė and Rūta Ščiogolevaitė. It will not only be a perfect present to the approaching Mother’s Day, but also a pleasant evening with the dearest person in the world.

April 30, 9 pm:

Concert by Finnish bands «Arson under the Sea» and «Black Mass Pervertor» , Klubas «Lemmy», Girstupis g. 1, Kaunas;

Doom metal and black metal are invited to a heavy guitar music from Finland.
