The Italian Eni energy company and the American Anadarko Petroleum report about the discovery of two large natural gas deposits near the shores of Mozambique.

According to estimates, this deposit’s supply is 280 million m3 of «blue fuel». Eni specialists found natural gas deposits in that region last year as well.

The day before, the American Anadarko Petroleum reported about finding a large deposit 16 km away from the Northern shores of Mozambique. Initial estimates claim the deposit has from 198 to 565 million m3 of natural gas, the Voice of America writes.

Mozambique is already one of the largest natural gas exporter in Africa. The population of the country hopes that the development of new deposits will stimulate the development of national economy.

An economic growth was noted in Mozambique over the recent years; nevertheless, a large part of the country’s population still lives in poverty.
