Nissan Norde Cartoon Rally makeshift vehicles festival to take place during Riga Celebration

Baltic news, News from Latvia, BNN.LV, BNN-NEWS.COM, BNN-NEWS.RUThe end of this week will pass by with festivities organized as part of Riga Celebration. On 13 August, the now traditional Nissan Norde Cartoon Rally 2016, a festival of makeshift vehicles, will be taking place near Congress Hall from 12:00 to 17:00.

Participants are allowed to use whatever form of transport they like: go-karts, bicycles, skates, skateboards, etc. For the first time the event will also include a child race. The Strider Mobile Race Track meant for children riding balance bikes will also be open.

More than a dozen different companies, creative association, school teams and friend groups will be taking part in this year’s Nissan Norde Cartoon Rally.

There are multiple races in store for participants. During those races, the teams’ chosen vehicle design, teamwork and presentation will be judged. The best will received prizes from supporters of this event – Domina Shopping, Maxima shopping network, Compensa insurance, Skydive Latvia and others.

Visitors of Riga Celebration will have a chance to have a look at vehicles used by Latvian rally racers Reinis Nitiss and Janis Baumanis. A lottery will be held as well. During it, participants of Nissan Norde Cartoon Rally will be able to win tickets for Neste World RX championship stage in Latvia, which will be organized at CSDD Bikernieki Race Track throughout 1-2 October.

At 13:30 there will be a special baby carriage race. Decorated baby carriages will take over the square neat Riga Congress Hall and leave for the race track from there. Organizers of this event hope this event will also become part of Nissan Norde Cartoon Rally in the future. The most active participants of the baby carriage race will have a chance of winning a very valuable prize – Chicco London Stroller. There will also be other prizes to win in multiple categories.

Registration will remain open until 12 August at www.sacensibas.lv in the Nissan Norde Cartoon Rally section. Participants have to pay an entry fee of EUR 15. More information about the even here.
