Passengers prevent a hijacking of an aircraft in China

Ten passengers were awarded 100 000 CNY for helping prevent a hijacking of an aircraft in China.

On Friday, June 29, six perpetrators attempted to hijack an aircraft that was carrying out a flight from Hotan to Urumqi. They smuggled explosives on board and even tried to set it off. There were 92 passengers and 10 crew members on board, ITAR-TASS writes.

There were six Police officers among the passengers. Perpetrators were neutralized thanks to the joint efforts of the crew, police officers and ten passengers, who were awarded monetary awards for bravery. The crew of the aircraft also received an award of 500 000 CNY.

It was reported that two of the six perpetrators died from their wounds. Two more assailants injured themselves and are currently in the hospital of the city of Hotan.
