On Tuesday, 10 May, clothes collection produced for Latvia’s National Olympics team for the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro were presented in Riga as part of Riga 2016 collection. Each package of clothes includes attire for different events of the Olympic Games: the opening ceremony, training and everyday needs, as well as a wide range of accessories. In total, each package includes 53 items.
«We tried combining modern technologies, like high quality breathable fabric without seams, waterproof materials, and Latvia’s traditional elements for attire, including national colours – white, grey and red – and the symbol of power and unity of our team – plait,» – says manager of OTFC Igor Klaja.
«We are very satisfied with work done with such an experienced partner that is 4F. They had previously supplied clothes to Polish athletes for Vancouver, London, Sochi and Baku. We are confident that clothes manufactured by 4F will help our athletes achieve their goals in the summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (2016) and winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang (2018) and other important sports events,» – comments President of Latvia’s Olympic Committee Aldons Vrublevskis.
Clothes of Latvia’s Olympic team of athletes and their support personnel were manufactured by a team of high-class art designers. Each athlete was measured in order to manufacture custom-made clothes. «This collection was specifically tailored in accordance with feedback from our athletes. We cannot allow a situation when a silver medal winner says or thinks he or she could have gotten first place if only the uniform had been more comfortable,» – comments Klaja.
In addition to the use of modern-age technologies in making the clothes, designers also manufactured different accessories: sunglasses, hats, bags, backpacks and shoes.
The identity tailored for the team and expressed in their uniforms was provided to the team of designers at 4F, which, in cooperation with Latvia’s Olympics Committee, developed the Rio 2016 collection for Latvia’s athletes. This is the first time in history when clothes are custom-made for each individual athlete, based on each person’s body parameters.
Soon every resident in Latvia will be able to have a look at the collection. The collection will be presented in Riga Plaza. At the beginning of summer, 4F store will offer clothes designed based on the Olympic collection.
