Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital’s new building is gradually becoming more and more life-like – SBRE construction company has partially finished the installation of the atrium’s glass frame. In addition, a temporary heating system was set up for two of the hospital’s wards in November. This means that the new ward will be provided with heating during the winter season to accommodate construction workers.
Partial assembly of the glass frame of the atrium and shielding has been completed. Assembly of outer walls for three blocks of the new building has been almost completed as well. SBRE has begun setting up the ventilation system. Landscaping work will continue until average air temperature drops below 0 C.
SBRE had finished the assembly of the new building’s composite roof structure at the beginning of November. Work continues in the tower section of the building.
As noted by SBRE project lead Valdis Koks, active work is currently being carried out in all sections of the construction project. «We connected the first and second section of the new building to a heating system so that interior work can also be carried out. All construction work is going according to the schedule,» – he said.
It is planned to connect the new building with other wards of the hospital. Construction work is being carried out to secure underground corridors and an elevator tower.
More than 300 employees of the construction company are currently engaged in work.
