On Saturday, 4 March, the ninth Women’s Day rally was held in Latvia. A record number of participants was reached this year: 723 teams (352 in Jekabpils and 371 in Tukums), organizers say.
Cesvaines brūzis girls team won at the Eastern track. Rallija zaķi won first place at the Western track. The same team won third place two years ago.
Teams in both cities had to play Quest game in the first 90 minutes this year. This was done in order to familiarize participants with the local history by having them solve riddles and interesting challenges. Participants also had to visit multiple special checkpoints in Vane, Pure, Babite, Staburags, Aizkraukle and Daugmale. Participants had to complete different interesting challenges, which is a tradition for the Women’s Day rally. The finish line was in Riga. Evening events remained unchanged – at Riga Plaza fashion and entertainment centre, organizers say.
