Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration to cost 823 million GBP

During the four-day celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, the British plan to spend up to 823 million GBP (722.5 million LVL). Such are the estimates for the amount of money people are going to spend on different kinds of souvenirs and other goods related to the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s rule.
This estimate exceeds the amount spent during the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Moneysupermarket Company stated its projection on Thursday May 31.
The third largest trading network in the world – Tesco – has already sold 400 000 jubilee cups, 93 000 paper crowns, 30 000 pillows and different, as well as more than 2.4 thousand kilometers of ribbons with national symbols. The trade network also eagerly awaits when UK’s flag sales will reach 2.86 million, ITAR-TASS reports.
Excluding souvenirs, large amounts of money will be spent on food – the trade network plans to sell 25 million wine and beer bottles, 2 million baskets of strawberries and 1.6 million hotdogs.
