Riga Airport dismisses concern over passenger turnover drop

«It is a storm in a teacup,» Arnis Luhse, Riga Airport CEO, told Latvian Radio, when commenting on the fuss in the media that the passenger turnover is shrinking rapidly.
The drop totals 20 000 passengers in a four months period, compared with the exact period last year. It is more or less the number Riga Airport services in a single summer day. At the moment, daily passenger turnover accounts for 16 000, he says.
Although the Latvian national airline airBaltic has cut the number of flights, other airlines, such as Lufthansa and Wizz Air are increasing it.
Luhse is confident that this year, just like last year, the airport will service more than five million passengers. He also stresses that the airport is working on restructurisation of its activities and the volume of cargo handled has already climbed from 1 000 to 6000 – 7000 tons per month.

Both Air baltic and Riga airport are crooks .Fly Vilnius or Tallin for reasonnable fares.
