Riga launches road repair season

The Riga City Council informed it will soon start road surfacing repair works in fourteen streets of Riga.

Preparatory works are now being carried out and warning traffic signs have already been set up in some streets.

Repair works are going to be carried out in such streets as Kalnciema, Antenas, Terbatas, Lubanas, Kr.Valdemara, Ieriku and many other.

During the repair works drivers have to take into account traffic burdens and restrictions.

Latvia offers a new deposit option for residents – savings bonds

On Wednesday, June 19, Latvian residents were presented with a new deposit option – savings bonds. The point of this deposit initiative is to offer any resident an opportunity to purchase state bonds and invest money in Latvia.

OlainFarm's product sales achieve 7% growth

Latvian parliament's budget for 2014 is estimated around LVL 15 million

During the June 17 meeting of the Saeima Praesidium, the parliament's budget for 2014-2016 was confirmed. The parliament does not plan to increase expenses for current activities, rather divide the funding for two main budget goals – LVL 255 thousand for Latvia's presidency over the Council of the European Union and LVL 2.76 million for the reconstruction of the main building on Jekaba Street 6/8.
