Overnight from July 18 to July 19, fresh clashes erupted in many parts of Syria, claiming 150 lives.

The worst attack targeted a funeral south of Damascus, where at least 60 people were killed.

Government forces claim they have killed many “terrorists”, who are supported by outside powers.

It should be added that the rebels have warned the government to evacuate its personnel before its headquarters comes under attack.

Meanwhile, it emerges that Britain has frozen £100 million worth assets of the family of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his closest associates.

As reported, Syrian Defence Minister Daoud Rajiha and his deputy Assef Shawkat, Assad’s brother-in-law, have been killed in a suicide bombing at the headquarters of the National Security Bureau in the capital Damascus.

Hassan Turkomani, a former defence minister and assistant to the vice president, was also killed.

Ministers and officials were meeting to discuss the raging violence. Some of them, including Interior Minister Mohammad Ibrahim al-Shaar, are said to be critically hurt.

The rebel Free Syrian Army (FSA) claims it was behind the bombing.
