The State Revenue Service (SRS) has collected 2.21 million LVL in taxes in the first six months of 2012, which exceeds tax revenue of the same period of 2011 by 13.2% or 265.61 million LVL, SRS Director General Nelija Jezdakova reported on July 25.

This year’s planned tax revenues have been exceeded by 7.3% or 146.69 million LVL. The head of the SRS admits the institution’s administrative tax revenue has grown in the last several years.

Jezdakova notes – while there was an 11% reduction in SRS’s administrative tax revenue in 2010, last year’s increase was 6.8%, and this year’s increase is 13.2%.

Chief of SRS notes that tax revenue increase was noted in all tax categories. However, the only tax category to fall behind was the excise tax revenue (8.4 million LVL in shortage). 237.9 million LVL was collected in this tax category.

According to the information from the SRS, Corporate income tax revenues were 124.57 million LVL; value added tax revenues were 536.31 million LVL; 536.31 million LVL were collected in social insurance contributions; while personal income tax revenue made up 421.99 million LVL.

It was previously reported that SRS’s administrative tax revenues for May this year were 410.05 million LVL, which is by 5.5% or 24.06 million LVL less than was planned to be collected according to the revenue plan.
