Turkey finds crew of jet shot down by Syria

The bodies of the crew members of a Turkish jet shot down by Syria last month have been found, according to Turkish officials.
The two airmen were found on the Eastern Mediterranean seabed. But the wreckage of F4 Phantom itself has not yet been spotted, reports BBC.
Meanwhile, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has announced he regrets the incident.
According to al-Assad, headquarters of his country’s defence complex did not recognize the affiliation of the fighter jet before it was too late.
As reported, a Turkish fighter plane was shot down by Syria’s air defence force in international airspace and crashed into Syria’s territorial waters, claims Turkey’s Foreign Affairs Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
The unarmed plane was not on any secret mission related to Syria, but accidentally ended up in Syrian airspace, he says.
