Mary parents were St. Joachim and St. Anna, although they are not mentioned in the Bible.
Mary’s date of birth is unknown. However, the church celebrates her birthday on 8 September.
According to Hippolytus from Thebes, a historian who lived in the 7th or 8th century, Mary lived 11 years after the death of Jesus Christ, until 41 CE. Mary’s death is not mentioned in the Holy Scripture. However, according to a Catholic and Orthodox beliefs, she was accepted into Heaven after her death.
According to the Christian doctrine, Mary was a virgin her whole life even though she gave birth to Jesus Christ.
