USA and Afghanistan agree on American support

Barack Obama and Hamid Karzai
The President of the United States of America Barack Obama and the President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai signed an agreement on Tuesday, May 1 which covers USA’s role in Afghanistan after the final withdrawal of all NATO forces from Afghan territory in 2014.
The agreement covers for security, economic and government issues, and clearly states the relationships of both countries after 2014. It does not cover the maintenance of American forces in Afghanistan, but there is a promise to offer assistance to Afghanistan in the ten years following a full withdrawal of American forces, the Voice of America reports.
The agreement states that Americans will have the rights to maintain military units in the country for training Afghan soldiers and performing military operations against the al-Qaeda terrorist organization.
After the signing of the said document, Obama notes that from now on the goal of USA and Afghanistan will be the establishment of piece.
He then turned to the American soldiers, noting, that USA did not choose this war – it was a consequence of the September 11, 2001 events.
