Ventbunkers: Enterprise Register deceived in oligarchs' interests
On Wednesday, May 30, the Latvian media received false information about two shareholders meetings held by AS Ventbunkers (VBU) and AS Latvijas naftas tranzits (LNT). Actually, both of the companies held only one shareholders meeting, convened in accordance with the Commercial Law. The Swiss attorney Rudolf Meroni was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Council in both of the companies.
VBU dismisses information that Martins Kveps, who is accused in the so called “digital case”, has been appointed LNT Supervisory Council Chairman, while Olafs Berkis – VBU Supervisory Council Chairman. Such claims shall be considered only as a further attempt to seize control over the two companies, according to VBU Media Service.
Meroni points out that along with the lawfully convened May 30 LNT shareholders meeting, Aleksejs Ovods loses any right to represent the company’s Management Board. Ovods claims to be LNT Management Board member, so basically he has been deceiving the Enterprise Register.
The legally appointed LNT Management Board is about to call on Latvian law enforcement agencies to initiate criminal proceedings against him.
It is also noted that Ovods, pretending to be LNT Management Board member, openly violates the Commercial Law, as at the same time he is also claiming to be VBU Supervisory Council member.
The Commercial Law prohibits to take up both of the posts simultaneously, so LNT shareholders and Meroni as the Supervisory Council Chairman hope that the Enterprise Register and its chief notary Ringolds Balodis will finally react to such a blatant violation. The company hopes that the Enterprise Register will refuse registration of false LNT and VBU shareholders meetings, where Ovods claims to be LNT Management Board member and VBU Supervisory Council member.
