Vilnitis not pleasing any of political forces

Normunds Vilnītis
I do not see the point of the statements that I should resign. I could as well bravely announce that the Prime Minister should resign – but I would need some reason for that, believes the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (CPCB) Head Normunds Vilnītis.
Already on running for the post I pointed out my conception and goals to achieve. I do not have to please any of the political forces, Vilnitis told in an interview to LNT broadcast 900 sekundes.
Both the external and the internal rebellion against me are coordinated, the link between the CPCB employees and a certain political force is becoming more and more evident. The political association Unity (Vienotība) has never kept in secret their only favourite – the only one they believe is knowledgeable in combating corruption. But I do not have to take into consideration any political parties conditions. I think my education and command of this field is sufficient, stresses Vilnitis.
He considers the Prime Minister’s aim is to put aside the current CPCB Head, instead assigning someone favouring him – it is advisable the new Head would regularly provide the political force with information they are interested in.
Someone is informing the Prime Minister about the work of the Bureau or some cases even before I get to know about that. I assume these could be my deputies, says Vilnitis, adding that he has received hints implying the direction he should work in, however the only direction he is following is the law.
There are employees complaining about me, although they have seen me only once, because they are complying with their duties, just as I am with mine, we do not even have any daily contact. The fuss is big, without any proofs, though, says CPCB Head, stressing that disciplinary action has already been launched against two employees, but there will be more.
Vilnitis also says he does not understand why there is a difference between the public statements of the Prime Minister and what is written in the resolution.
