French Film Festival «Winter Screens», Vilnius Cinema Theatres;

In 2015, the festival celebrates the anniversary of the Winter Screens. Serious festival already established in the cultural context of Lithuania has not lost its overtone of cosy carelessness and modernity. Namely, to remind that heart titillating levity, the 10th anniversary of the festival program has been dedicated to women. According to François Truffaut, women not only do nice things in cinema, they also create very nice films: during the festival we will get acquainted with modern works of the female film directors and stories about women, as well as the retrospective of the director, actor and writer Nicole Garcia.

«The Absolute Textile», Museum of Applied Art;

The exhibition represents transitions of textile in the history and the image of history in textile, the desire to evaluate art of Lithuanian textile in the context of historical, social, economic and cultural changes. In Lithuania, surrounded by ambitious neighbouring countries and seeking the statehood for centuries, art has always been a significant form of expression of the national and personal identity. Works of collections of the exhibition directly or associatively disclose the environment that was influencing historical and cultural evolution of Lithuania.

All the artworks are related to ice. It can be mischievous, mesmerizing, cheerful and even…warm. The features depend on the way you touch it! They say even the iciest hearts melt seeing the work!

Exhibition «Body World Vital», «Mega» mall and leisure centre, Kaunas.

If you are afraid of deceased or are panicky of an idea of death, then the exhibition of human bodies stiffened in the moment of coitus or during a tragic sport accident, is definitely not for you. But the display of the flesh-less remains, exposing the intricacy of what makes us humans, is astonishing. The exhibition has already drawn much condemnation from bigots, but is touted by free-minds!

Oh, forget the tiny fish. Sprat battles are about figuring out who of the bunch of smart-heads is really smartest, cunning and…more. An event full of fun that does not leave anyone fish-cold.

«Birthday Concert of the Orchestra», Vilnius Congress Hall;

On January 30th, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra celebrates its birthday and invites everyone to hear one of the most impressive works of the symphonic music – G. Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 The Resurrection. It is a grandiose piece that conveys the epic theme of death and resurrection via a huge orchestra, soloists, choir and organ. Maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius, who conquered all the Gustav Mahler’s symphonic works, and the golden voices of Lithuania – Sandra Janušaitė and Ieva Prudnikovaitė will accompany one through the emotional path towards resurrection.
