Three centuries of fashion; Museum of Applied Art, Arsenalo st. 3A, Vilnius;

Through his new exhibition spanning the period from the 1740s to 1960s, Alexandre Vassiliev attempts to answer the question, what drives men and women to constantly change their attire and accessories throughout history?..

New exhibition of the fashion historian Alexandre Vassilliev «Rebel in Boudoir» is dedicated to fashion of the eighth decade of the XX century. This short period of time in terms of style was motley, eclectic and contradictory. The connoisseurs compared it with bubbling boiler of creative thought, peculiar testing polygon of the future fashion. In the eighth decade, it was fought for the rights to expression; however, the uniting fashion concept was missing. It is the time of revolutionary stylish changes in art and fashion: the hippy epoch was changed by folk style; later on, retro and military style spread, together with disco, glam rock and punk styles.
