Migrants tear down Greek-Macedonian border gate, police use tear gas

Macedonian police on February 29 used tear gas against a crowd of migrants on the country’s border with Greece after several hundred people stormed the border and broke down a metal gate.

Number of car part thefts increased by one-third in Latvia

In the first two months of 2016, as compared with the same period of 2015, the number of car part thefts in Latvia increased by 30%. Similar to the previous year, BMW car parts are stolen the most often. The number of stolen Volvo car parts has increased more than four times.

Council of Europe: Recent reforms in Poland endanger rule of law

The advisory body of the human rights organisation Council of Europe has found that reforms made to the Polish Constitutional Tribunal on late 2015 endanger the rule of law in the country, after Poland asked the Council's Venice Commission to comment on the legal changes after parliament overruled appointments made to the tribunal by the previous government.
