October’s inflation in Latvia higher than average in EU and Eurozone

In October 2019, inflation in Latvia was higher than the average in the European Union and Eurozone, according to information published by Eurostat on Friday, 15 November.

Inflation in Latvia estimated at 2.3% in October

Compared to October 2018, the average level of consumer prices rose by 2.3 % in October 2019. Prices of goods had increased by 1.9 % and prices of services by 3.0 %.

The level of consumer prices in Latvia may have increased by 2% - 2.3% in October 2019 when compared to the same month of the previous year, bank analysts predict.

Estonian growth is slowing central bank agrees to IMF findings

The head of the Bank of Estonia has accepted the findings of the International Monetary Fund that the growth of the Estonian economy is slower in pace. The slowdown, should, however, lead to a cut in inflation, the official added.

Inflation level in Latvia at 2.6% in September

Compared to September 2018, the average level of consumer prices in Latvia rose by 2.6 % in September 2019. Prices of goods have increased by 2.4 % and prices of services by 3.0 %.

European Central Bank raises GDP and inflation forecast

European Central Bank has revised two macro-economic forecasts for 2011. It is projected the eurozone GDP will expand 1.9% instead of the previously forecast 1.7%, while inflation is said to climb 2.6% instead of 2.3%.
